Capability 05 / 06 / Power generation
Process pipework packages for power stations and biomass plants.
Full process pipework packages for EPC contractors on power generation projects, from setting out to handover, on the record in Bermuda and Kent.

An EPC contractor building a power station needs a pipework subcontractor who will be there from the first day the ground is open to the day the plant is handed over. KBVI has done exactly that twice for BWSC: the BELCO 60MW heavy oil power station in Hamilton, Bermuda, in 2019, and the 27.8MW Discovery Park biomass plant in Sandwich, Kent, where the crew stayed two years.
The package runs from fire mains and suppression at the start, through ammonia, demin water, cooling water, steam, oil and hydraulic lines, to the argon fire suppressant lines through the whole plant. Based in Scunthorpe, mobilised anywhere: the record runs from the steelworks on the doorstep to Sheffield, Kent and Bermuda.

How the job runs.
Survey and set out
On the drawings and on the ground before the other trades arrive.
Fire mains first
The fire protection goes in and is proven so the rest of the build can proceed.
Fabricate and install
Process lines fabricated to drawings and run on site, sequenced with the main contractor's programme.
Weld and prove
Every line welded, checked and proven for sign off.
Handover
The last trade off, with the pipework in and proven and the plant ready to start.

Straight answers.
What buyers ask about power station process pipework.
Have you worked for an EPC contractor before?
Yes. Both power station packages on the record, Bermuda and Kent, were for BWSC. The credibility strip on the homepage lists Snetterton, Norwich as a third BWSC site.
Will you travel?
KBVI is based in Scunthorpe and mobilises anywhere. Hamilton, Bermuda is on the record.
How long will you stay on a build?
As long as the programme needs. At Discovery Park the crew went in for the fire mains and stayed two years to finish nearly every line in the plant.
Also on the list.
Fire mains and suppression systems
External fire mains, hydrants, internal hose points and suppressant systems installed to code on live power station sites, often as the first trade on the job.
HVAC and process pipework
Threaded and welded HVAC pipework alongside the full run of plant process lines, installed on running sites and new builds.
Pipework fabrication and installation
Spool fabrication and site installation of process pipework in carbon and stainless steel, small bore up to large diameter, on live plants and new builds.
