Knife gate valvesPrefabricatedShutdown work

An outage gives you a fixed window and no second chance at it. KBVI site measured and prefabricated every length of new pipework in its own workshop before British Steel shut the BOS plant down, so the July outage was spent installing rather than making. The work covered eight new valves across the plant, new flanges onto existing lines, and the spectacle blinds that go with them.

  • 01Installation of 2 x DN400 knife gate valves, with new pipework between the valves and the existing pumps
  • 02New flanges onto the existing pipework
  • 03Installation of 4 x DN150 knife gate valves into existing pipework at the Gas Holder Precipitators
  • 04Installation of 2 x DN150 spectacle blinds and 2 x DN150 gate valves with associated new pipework
  • 05All new pipework site measured, fabricated and prepared in the KBVI workshop before the shutdown
